Mindful Motherhood Group
Mindful Motherhood is a therapeutic group for mothers to awaken self-compassion & personal growth in supportive community. The group is limited to seven members at a time, to preserve a space of intimacy and safety.
We will begin each week with a guided meditation to ground and steady the mind and heart. We will then share our various experiences of motherhood-- the challenges as well as the gifts--and offer one another compassionate support. I will offer specific mindfulness and compassion practices to help all group members practice connecting deeply with their bodies and hearts so as to show up with more presence for themselves and their families.
We meet on Mondays from 12:30-2 pm (perhaps while your child is napping? or while you are on an extended lunch break?) for six weeks.
Mondays from 12:30-2pm, often with a week off between meetings. The next session dates are: 10/2/23, 10/16/23, 10/30/23, 11/6/23, 11/13/23, 11/30/23. I will also schedule a 25 minute phone or Zoom call with you in advance of our first group sessions to make sure the group will be a good fit for you and that I am prepared to welcome you.
2033 Hosea L Williams, Suite 2, Atlanta, GA 30317. We will meet in the private and intimate space of my therapy office, on the second floor of the building that also houses Dom Beijos and The Ballog in downtown Kirkwood. There is ample street parking as well as free parking in the gravel parking immediately adjacent to the building.
Each group is a $65 investment in your well-being, with a commitment to attending/ paying for six weeks of the group once you join. (You will also have the option of continuing beyond the initial six weeks if you would like.) The initial phone/ Zoom call prior to the start of the group is also a $65 charge. You can pay for the group each week or in a lump sum in the beginning of the six weeks. You may pay using Zelle or by bringing a good old fashioned check.
What else do I need to know?
To preserve the safety and cohesion of the group, the group will stay closed for six weeks once It has started. Because I have blocked my time for the group, I ask that group members agree to pay for all sessions, even if a conflict emerges and they are unable to attend one session. As the end of the six week group approaches, we will assess together whether to continue for another six weeks or if the work of the group feels complete.
How do I get started?
Please complete the form below, and I'll let get back to you to let you know if there is still space in an upcoming group. If there is, we'll set up a time for your initial 25-minute individual session with me to make sure the group will meet your needs and to ensure that I'm prepared to welcome you into the group.
